Berkeley Group price drops after £45m share sell-off

Berkeley Group chairman Tony Pidgley and Vanessa Perrins, wife of chief executive Robert Perrins, sold a combined £45m of shares in the company yesterday.

Pidgley sold 750,000 of his 5.5m shares for £35.75 a share – a total of £26.8m – while Perrins sold 500,000 of her 1m shares for £17.9m.

It is the second time this year Pidgley has disposed of a substantial part of his shareholding in the company. He held 6.5m in shares in Berkeley – about 4.7% of the entire share capital – this time last year but sold 1m of them in April for £31.1m.
