Connectivity flaws affect most Irish offices

Connectivity problems affect 85% of Irish offices, an independent survey has found. The survey was commissioned to mark the launch of connectivity ratings company Wiredscore in Dublin, Despite the fact that the firm is launching in a country where 2.75m sq ft of office space has been Wired Certified, 77% of people surveyed said that their connectivity issues last at least 30 minutes and one in 10 people said they experienced connectivity issues at work every day. WiredScore’s president and EMEA managing director, William Newton, said: “We believe WiredScore will enhance Ireland’s reputation as a great place to invest and to do business. We can help to attract companies, some of which may be considering relocation because of Brexit, to come to Ireland by providing transparent, globally recognised, connectivity ratings to potential office locations. “Our survey shows that reliable internet connection is a top priority for Irish businesses with three in five telling us that the quality of internet connection was the main consideration for their company when they chose their office space. This shows that Irish businesses understand the importance of connectivity. We want to play our part in providing a service that ensures they are getting the best value for their investment and the office space that meets their connectivity needs.” Roland O’Connell, chairman of Savills Ireland, said: “With WiredScore’s stamp of approval we will be able to identify and tell which buildings will give access to world-class connectivity.
