British Land welcomes arts charity to Broadgate
British Land is giving 19,000 sq ft at 2 Finsbury Avenue Square at Broadgate, EC2, to Theatre Delicatessen, a charity which supports emerging theatremakers.
Theatre Delicatessen provides support and facilities to artists working in non-traditional forms, including immersive experiences, game-playing and live art.
The charity will occupy part of the ground and first floors of 2 Finsbury Avenue Square for at least two years. British Land has also pledged to contribute to the running costs of the space as a further support to the organisation, which is one of Britain’s leading supporters of the next generation of innovative theatre makers.

The arrival of Theatre Delicatessen at Broadgate sits within a wider strategic plan for the 32-acre campus, which is to create a vibrant, mixed use neighbourhood for London, reflecting the changing way people are living their lives, and in particular the increasing blending of work and leisure time.
By 2019 Broadgate’s retail and leisure offer will have doubled in size, which British Land says will enable greater opportunity for collaboration, social engagement and enjoyment, not just for prospective occupiers, but also those living and working in surrounding areas such as Spitalfields, Shoreditch and Old Street.
The new theatre will be located on the ground floor, alongside an arts café, while the first floor will be dedicated to rehearsal rooms and creative workspace.
