Department of Coffee and Social Affairs signs in Manchester 

Coffee chain the Department of Coffee and Social Affairs is opening its first shop outside London in Manchester. The 3,000 sq ft shop, which will be the chain’s largest to date, will open in Bruntwood’s Faulkner House in New York Street in the summer. Designed by architects Urban & Country and Waugh Thistleton, the coffee shop will be the company’s 16th outlet in the UK. ■ Bruntwood has signed Five Guys, Loungers and the Co-op at University Green, which is part of the University of Manchester’s £1bn campus masterplan and redevelopment.
