Insurance broker Lockton’s real estate and construction team has raised £12,000 for charities Shelter From the Storm, an emergency night shelter, and children’s charity Brainwave. Its annual poker tournament, held in London, was attended by 100 industry professionals, and the night’s winners shared a prize pot of £3,500. Philip Steers of Cunningham Lindsey was the winner, ahead of wild card Peter Gunby of B Bailey & Co.

Property rallies for injured royal marine vet
A new bespoke house equipped with lifting hoists and rails has given a royal marine veteran greater independence and security.
Corporal Phil Eaglesham was left disabled after contracting Q fever while on tour in Afghanistan.
The royal marines charity pursued the project with the support of the construction industry, and through donations and support from Patron Capital, Haldons Chartered Surveyors, Persimmon Homes, Grainge Architects and Mundy Construction.

Allsop creates bidding frenzy
Allsop auctioneer Gary Murphy created a bidding frenzy at the Action for Children’s Spring Ladies Lunch and Fashion Show auction in March. Items up for grabs included spa days, a one-off necklace and a make-up masterclass. Held at London’s Mandarin Oriental, the lunch was attended by 220 guests and raised over £28,000 for disadvantaged children across the UK.
JLL cycle from Bristol to Dublin
JLL’s Bristol office has raised over £16,500 for the children’s charity Smile with Siddy. A team of 12 cycled from Bristol to Dublin to raise funding for research into cancer neuroblastoma.
