Unite secures planning for 1,200 beds
Unite has secured planning permission for 1,200 beds for its portfolio through two separate applications.
In Sheffield, it has been granted consent for a 600-bed scheme, St Vincent, in a former church. In Birmingham it has been given permission for an additional 600 beds in a development called International House, which was a self-storage unit.

The total development cost for both projects will be around £75m and both are scheduled to complete by 2018.
Unite’s portfolio stands at 50,000 beds, with an additional 6,500 beds in the pipeline.
