Plans emerge for 3,000-home Merseyside neighbourhood

St Helens Borough Council has revealed proposals for the Bold Forest Garden Village masterplan in Bold, Merseyside. The new neighbourhood consists of 3,000 homes, alongside community infrastructure and amenities. It has been designed in partnership with Avison Young, SLR Consulting and Social. The team will gather feedback from residents and stakeholders on the proposals over two consultation rounds in spring and autumn. It is anticipated a final masterplan document will be submitted to the council for approval by the end of the year. Nicola Rigby, principal director at Avison Young, said: “It is important that Bold Forest Garden Village is brought forward in a way which benefits the wider area. The conversations we have and feedback we receive will directly shape the masterplan, which is an opportunity for Bold, for St Helens and the wider city region.” Richard McCauley, cabinet member for inclusive growth and regeneration at St Helens Borough Council, said: “The emerging proposals seek to facilitate healthy, sustainable lifestyles for residents of the garden village and in the wider local community.
