City Property Glasgow has signed a new tenant for a three-acre open storage site on Blochairn Road.
It has agreed a 25-year lease with CHS Container Hire Services in the wider 32-acre Blochairn development.
The deal is one of the largest recent industrial open storage yard transactions in the city.
The site, the majority of which is occupied by Glasgow Fruit Market, sits at junction 14 on the M8, providing access to major transport routes and connecting occupiers with the rest of Scotland and beyond.
Tom Conway, senior surveyor at Graham + Sibbald, which advised the landlord, said: “We are seeing increasing demand for high-quality industrial open storage sites within Glasgow and the central belt as this sector continues to grow across the UK.
“Such high levels of demand have led to a depletion of available stock in the market and, due to the large area some occupiers require, it can be challenging to locate and secure industrial open storage sites quickly.
“We expect to see demand remain strong for quality industrial open storage sites in Glasgow and the surrounding areas in 2025 as more occupiers enter the market.”
