The development will deliver 407 homes alongside a community centre and a mosque.
As preferred partner, Countryside Partnerships will further progress the design of the project and prepare the site for construction.
Overall, the regeneration will deliver 64 replacement affordable homes and an additional 111 affordable homes, expanding the council’s social housing stock.
The majority of these will be larger, family-sized three and four-bedroom homes. The scheme will also include 232 private and build-to-rent homes.
With planning permission already granted for the development, the PCSA was signed on 17 December. Enabling works and demolition of empty buildings is due to be completed in 2025.
The scheme will be delivered in two phases, with phase 1 due to complete in early 2028 and the entire scheme at the beginning of 2031.
Lutfur Rahman, mayor of Tower Hamlets Council, said: “We are committed to creating genuinely affordable housing for our residents, and this appointment of Countryside marks an important milestone in our housing development programme, as well as in one of our key housing regeneration projects.
“We have worked with residents to bring this regeneration project together, and I am optimistic that these new homes, along with the vital community facilities they will bring, will improve the lives of many families in the area.”
Kevin Delve, managing director of Vistry East London, said: “Given the strong local support that the HAP regeneration enjoys, we are looking forward to delivering a scheme that meets the needs of the local community and is the start of a successful, long-term partnership with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.”
