Housing association gets go-ahead for Bath resi scheme

Bath-based housing association Curo has received planning permission for a 208-home scheme. The development, located on Bath Road in Keynsham, will comprise 168 houses and 40 flats. Of these, 62 affordable properties will be managed by Curo long-term, with 47 designated for social rent and 15 for shared ownership. The scheme will feature a range of two and two-and-a-half-storey homes, alongside three-storey properties lining the main route through the site and fronting the A4 Bath Road. Part of the site within the green belt will be preserved and transformed into community amenities, including allotments and an orchard. Stuart Smith, technical director at Curo, said: “This project is a natural step in Keynsham’s continued growth and will include options for social rent and shared ownership for local people. “We are excited to create something that will genuinely benefit the town, providing the things Keynsham needs, like highway improvements and more recreational spaces. We will also be contributing around £2m in community infrastructure levy which will help fund local improvements, with £300,000 going directly to Keynsham Town.” See planning information in Bath and North East Somerset >>
