Council approves Yoo Capital land swap for Shepherd’s Bush Market homes

Hammersmith & Fulham Council has approved a development and land swap agreement with Yoo Capital to unlock the affordable homes aspect of its major revamp of Shepherd’s Bush Market, W12.

The 40-home scheme, on the adjacent Old Laundry Yard site, will be owned and managed by the council. Yoo Capital will develop the homes in exchange for rights that will enable broader redevelopment.

Plans for the six-storey scheme involve letting 60% of the homes at London affordable rent, with the remainder as council shared ownership.

The wider Shepherd’s Bush Market redevelopment was given the thumbs up by the council in December. The 4.2-acre site will include 400,000 sq ft of new space and a nine-storey commercial building.

Yoo Capital became the majority owner of the market and the Old Laundry Yard in 2020 after acquiring a 75% stake from U+I.
