TPG and Ridgeback invest in UK housebuilder

Investment groups TPG Angelo Gordon and Ridgeback Group have backed housebuilder HarperCrewe in a new investment round. Founded by ex-Bloor Homes chief executive Adrian Bloor, HarperCrewe’s partners with landowners, corporates and landed estates and has built a land portfolio of over 3,000 plots since 2022. The company will use the new investment to grow its landbank and scale the delivery of homes. The pair has previously bought nine UK build-to-rent assets with a combined gross development value of more than £800m. Bloor said: “Consolidation in the UK plc housebuilding sector is creating a path for new entrants that are committed to doing things differently. “Our partnership model is a unique proposition and genuine alternative to the typical approach of a listed housebuilder.” Image courtesy of HarperCrewe
