Final phase of Leeds’ Aire Park unveiled
Vastint UK’s planning team has shared its vision for the final phase of the Aire Park masterplan in Leeds.
The developer is set to extend the eight-acre city park to improve connectivity between the city centre, South Bank and Leeds Dock, as well as deliver up to 502 homes, commercial and leisure space, and a multi-storey car park.
The move follows the opening of the first parts of the site’s public realm and the recently revealed proposal for the refurbishment of the Tetley building.
The wider masterplan includes 301,000 sq ft of commercial space and 1,400 homes, as well as the restoration of the former Crown Hotel.
Simon Schofield, head of development at Vastint UK, said: “We are excited to be progressing with the next phase of the Aire Park masterplan and, as a long-term investor into Leeds, we believe it’s important that we engage in a conversation with our neighbours about the future direction of this once in a generation redevelopment.
“The submission of planning for phase two of the masterplan will be another major milestone for us, and we welcome any feedback on our plans as we look to create a new district for residents, workers and visitors to Leeds to enjoy.”
Ahead of submitting the plans to the council, Vastint will consult the local community. The consultation runs until 10 April.
