Donald Trump’s businesses were paid almost $8m by 20 countries during his presidency.
The Chinese and Saudi Arabian governments, as well as state-owned entities linked to them, were the biggest spenders at Trump’s hotels in Washington and Las Vegas, as well as at properties in New York. China alone spent more than $5.5m.
The disclosure comes from a 156-page report published by Democrats on the House of Representatives’ oversight committee and raises potential conflicts of interest within the property and hotels portfolio as Trump seeks a second term in the White House.
