Gove gives green light to Cricklewood scheme

Montreaux’s plans for the redevelopment of a former B&Q site in Cricklewood, NW2, have been approved by ministers. The 6.8-acre scheme, which sought the development of 1,046 homes in a series of buildings ranging from three to 18 storeys, was submitted to Barnet Council but called in by the secretary of state last August. The outline planning application was subject to a planning inspection and public inquiry in February this year. The inspector’s report landed on Michael Gove’s desk in June. In a letter yesterday, local government minister Simon Hoare said he had been “directed by the secretary of state”, to say that he agreed with the inspector’s conclusions that “planning permission be granted subject to conditions”, although these appear to be minor tweaks.
