More than 2,300 barber shops have opened in the past year, making it the fastest-growing segment in UK retail.
The Local Data Company found that although 1,500 barber shops closed in the same period, the number has increased overall by 815.
During the year the UK high street also added 636 beauty salons and 369 nail salons.
