The tallest tower in the City of London is preparing to open its free-to-access viewing gallery, offering panoramic views over the capital even higher than those at the Shard.
Horizon 22, on the 58th floor of 22 Bishopsgate, EC2, is 269m above the Square Mile’s streets, edging ahead of the viewing platform at the Shard, SE1, London’s tallest building, which stands at 243.8m.
“The City of London is coming back, without doubt,” said Phillip Shalless, senior asset manager at owner AXA IM Real Assets, looking out at crowds moving north across London Bridge at a pre-opening event held this week. “We need to be able to make the City a thriving place where people choose to work – this building is part of that.”
