People moves: RO Group appoints first head of sustainability

Appointments and promotions Helena Hughes (pictured, left) has been named a director in the flex portfolio management team at Workthere, an operator of flexible office space backed by Savills. She previously worked at The Instant Group. Ana Bajri (pictured, centre), formerly of Countrywide Surveying Services, has joined RO Group as its first head of sustainability. She has experience navigating ESG issues in a commercial environment. Clare Johnson (pictured right) has been appointed as director of Centrick’s build-to-rent platform, VICI, which has a pipeline of more than 1,000 units across the UK. She joins from Inland Homes. Former UK Green Building Council chief executive Julie Hirigoyen has joined CBRE as special adviser to its UK sustainability and ESG consultancy team. In her new position she will focus on anticipating long-term trends and priorities for real estate owners, occupants and investors. British Land has promoted Alex Colvin to head of development leasing, responsible for leasing at Broadgate, Paddington, Norton Folgate, Ealing and other stand-alone London assets. Amy Hockley has been promoted to head of innovation leasing, charged with leasing at Canada Water, Regent’s Place and innovation assets outside London. David Partridge, chairman of Related Argent and chair of the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard Governance Board, has joined Standard Gas Technologies’ new advisory board, which is commercialising a transformational carbon-removing renewable energy technology. Holly Kiely has joined Four & Co as an associate director to work on lease advice and agency instructions. She joins from GCW Property Consultants. Topland has hired James Conolly to its structured finance team, Alex Bailey to its development team and Ben Husbands to its finance team. Affordable housing provider Vivid has appointed Jo Moran to its board as a non-executive director. She has expertise in shaping and leading large customer-centric businesses. Rendall & Rittner has hired Alan Todd as programme manager to oversee the delivery of its technology transformation project. Law firm DAC Beachcroft has appointed health property partners Victoria Armstrong from Sintons and Lisa Geary from Capsticks. RX, the company that organises MIPIM and MAPIC, has appointed Dan Cook as director of the UK and Ireland built environment markets. Cook has served as chief executive of Active Building Centre and the Landscape Institute, as well as director of strategy and planning at RICS. Knight Frank has appointed David Goatman as global head of energy and sustainability services, with the aim of growing the ESS teams in eight global locations over the next two years. He has been with the firm for more than 13 years and is currently the head of energy, sustainability and natural resources EMEA. Bancon Group has appointed Kevin McColgan as its new chief executive following the retirement of current CEO John Irvine. He joins from Lovells. Property consultancy LH1 Global has promoted Tom Lilley to sales director and Harry Hickling-Baker to business development and partnership manager. Former British Land head of development Nigel Webb will join the board of housebuilder Barratt Developments as an independent non-executive director in October. Marrons has recruited partner Luke Hillson to lead its urban design and masterplanning function, while assistant planner Sarah Watkins and graduate planner Louis Jones have joined to promote land and secure planning permission for developers, landowners and homeowners. Cathy Marcus and Raimondo Amabile have been named as co-chief executives of PGIM Real Estate. Sebastiano Ferrante has been appointed head of Europe. Sarah Murray has joined Savills Ireland as director of new homes from Cairn Homes. Mark Richardson has been appointed head of investment at Savills in Poland and Igor Gacek has been appointed as head of property management for the Czech Republic and Slovakia division. Helen McLeod-Baikie has joined the national valuation team at Bruton Knowles as senior associate and head of public sector valuation. She was previously the chief property officer at Pembrokeshire County Council. Barings European Real Estate has appointed Nick Pink, head of real estate portfolio management for Europe, to the role of director of ropean real estate following the retirement of Charles Weeks. Pink joined the company in 2005. Amilcar Grot of Achmea Investment Management, Keith O’Donnell of ATOZ, and Jaap van der Bijl of Altera Vastgoed have joined INREV’s management board.
