The value of mortgage balances in arrears has jumped to the highest level in seven years.
Bank of England figures show that arrears balances rose by 28.8% year-on-year to £16.9bn in the three months to the end of June, the most since the third quarter of 2016.
They now account for 1.02% of all outstanding home loans, up from 0.89% in the first quarter of the year.
