Britain’s biggest brick company is to close one of its factories due to falling demand.
Ibstock said rising mortgage costs had lowered house sales and led to a “significant reduction” in demand for its bricks.
The firm has decided to close its Ravenhead factory near Wigan. The site makes around 40m bricks a year.
