People moves: JLL appoints EMEA sustainability consulting lead

This week’s appointments and promotions Paul Stepan (pictured, left) has been named as JLL’s head of sustainability consulting for EMEA. He will be responsible for the division’s growth and management, as well as supporting clients on their decarbonisation journeys. Claire McDowell (pictured, centre) of M7 Real Estate has been appointed as the next chairperson of Nexus, the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland’s Young Professional Network. Katie Hicks (pictured, right) has joined TSP as portfolio manager, where she will be responsible for developing its flex platform. She was formerly a senior surveyor at Colliers. Alan Pepper has been appointed chief executive of flexible office supplier Orega. At the end of August, the former chief operating officer of Essensys will take over from Zach Douglas, who co-founded Orega and has served as CEO for more than 22 years. The UK office of the Australian pension firm AustralianSuper has named Carl Astorri as head of investments for Europe, John Normand as head of investment strategy, Sujay Shah as head of internal government portfolios, Deborah Gilshan as head of ESG and stewardship for Europe, William Manfield as head of group risk, international, and Amanda Mitchell as head of corporate affairs for Europe. Mark Callender has joined Bidwells as a research partner to focus on high-growth sectors such as renewable energy, science and technology, and natural capital markets. He joins the team from Schroders, where he was head of property research. Watkin Jones has appointed George Dyer, head of divestment and asset management, as group investment director. He joined the company from Cushman & Wakefield in 2020. CBRE has promoted Chad Doellinger, chief transformation officer, to general counsel, and Banke Odunaike to the new role of chief culture officer. Mandy Adamou has joined Fiera Capital Corporation as managing director, head of consultant relations for EMEA and Asia. Knight Frank has promoted Joey Vlasto to regional head for the Americas to support transatlantic business development. Faith Beeson-Wright has joined the Bristol office as a partner in its planning and development team.  Christina McLean has been promoted to head of the lettings department at Savills’ Fulham branch.  AXA IM Alts has promoted Philippe Grasser to head of European transactions, Ulf Bachmann has been made chief executive for Germany and Emilie Jaskula has been appointed to the newly created role of global head of offices. Avant Homes East Midlands has hired David Palfreman as head of customer service. He was previously with Countryside Partnerships. London-based build-to-rent operator Apo Group has appointed Andrew Wallis as commercial director as it expands its operation beyond the capital. He joins from Soho House & Co, where he was global finance controller. Michelle Santos has been promoted to associate director at mezzanine finance and development company Davon. Law firm CMS has appointed Michael Buchanan as a partner in its Manchester real estate transactions team. Lambert Smith Hampton has hired Tom Steadman as a senior surveyor in its industrial and logistics capital markets team, where he will support industrial investment clients across the South and wider UK market. He joins from DTRE. Emily Radcliffe has joined Redrow Lancashire’s head office as customer services manager responsible for developments across Lancashire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.  BNP Paribas Real Estate has appointed Jean Parker as director in its lease advisory team. She has experience representing both landlords and tenants in rent reviews and lease renewals.  Countrywide Surveying Services has appointed Jonathan Bourke as director of retrofit. He will oversee CSS and its sister company Harvey, Donaldson & Gibson’s retrofit division. Alyssa Vogt has joined Quadrant as an associate partner from Lazard. She will focus on investment analysis, underwriting transactions and asset reporting. Longevity Partners UK has promoted Ed Wealend to group chief innovation officer. Clodagh Cant has been promoted to associate director, specialising in sustainable design, and Elliot Ogbechina, Kanon Tsuda and Theo Meslin have been made senior consultants.   Mark Candler has joined EiA Real Estate as a director to enhance its offering and diversify its client base. He joins from Montagu Evans. Stacey Moody has joined Crestbridge’s corporate services team as a director.
