TopHat expands into Europe with modular partnership
TopHat is entering Europe with an exclusive partnership with France’s largest housebuilder Nexity.
Under the deal, TopHat will contribute its expertise and references in modular construction, while Nexity will provide its experience in off-site construction and development programs within France.
TopHat founder and chief executive Jordan Rosenhaus said: “Today’s announcement marks TopHat’s expansion into Europe, where we plan on applying and deploying the same precision manufacturing techniques that have helped us address the UK’s housing crisis.”

TopHat founder and chief executive Jordan Rosenhaus said: “Today’s announcement marks TopHat’s expansion into Europe, where we plan on applying and deploying the same precision manufacturing techniques that have helped us address the UK’s housing crisis.”
The initiative plays into Nexity’s Imagine 2026 strategy, which aims to offer quality, affordable and low-carbon housing, with 10% of its housing production completed in factories by 2028.
Nexity delivered more than 18,000 homes last year, around the same number as Barratt Developments in the UK. It has also built more than 2,000 off-site prefabricated timber-framed homes.
In April, TopHat closed a £70m fundraise and is currently building a 650,000 sq ft facility in Corby, Northamptonshire, which will be Europe’s largest modular housing factory.
Production is expected to begin next year.
Nexity chief executive Veronique Bedague said: “Low-carbon and industrialisation are two key drivers of our Imagine 2026 strategy, enabling us to better meet our customers’ expectations, affirm our low-carbon leadership and control construction costs.
“Our partnership with a leading industrial player in Europe, combined with our experience in low-carbon off-site construction, allows us to confidently envision the acceleration of this new industrial sector in France and actively contribute to the ecological transition.”
