Convene signs deal for 45,000 sq ft City venue
Convene has signed to operate a new 45,000 sq ft meetings and events venue at Sancroft, St Paul’s, EC4.
The hospitality company, which creates and manages event and flexible office spaces, will open a new venue at the site which will feature a multi-functional meeting room with space to accommodate 900 people. This will be the largest space within the Convene portfolio and will provide the biggest above-ground room of its kind in the City of London.
As part of the deal, the company has also signed a management agreement to design and operate the building’s tenant lounge and facilities in the 127,429 sq ft, Greycoat and Mitsui Fudosan redevelopment. This will include a lounge area, café and library.

Convene will also be the sole operator of the reception for the entire building.
Once the Paternoster Square site is complete, Convene will operate 5,000 sq ft on the ground floor and the entire 40,000 sq ft floorplate on level one, where it will have seven defined meeting spaces and the large conference room.
The space, which is due to open in Q1 2024, has room for 1,200 guests.
It comes following Convene’s acquisition of etc.venues in January in a reported £200m deal that added 16 venues to its portfolio.
Convene’s head of UK, Elliott Sparsis, said there was a “particularly strong appetite” in the City of London for meetings and events space, adding that Sancroft would provide a location that offers the “size and scale to support [customers’] evolving needs”.
He said: “Coming out of the pandemic, commercial real estate is at an inflection point and landlords are getting creative in how they stack buildings in order to create a more integrated ecosystem.”
Convene opened its first London location at 22 Bishopsgate, EC2, in the spring of 2022. With the new location, Convene now operates 39 meetings, events and flexible office locations across nine cities in the US and UK.
CBRE UK acted for Greycoat and Mitsui Fudosan and Convene.
