Future plans for the wider development include a 180-bedroom hotel, 1,180 BTR and mid-market rental units, and 160 affordable homes, as well as further eating, drinking and leisure facilities, including a lido.
Ben Brough, director at Savills Development, says: “Edinburgh Park is a fitting way to further the Scottish capital’s global reputation for exceptional quality of life, reflecting its green credentials and its vibrant cultural scene.
“As the UK’s largest financial hub outside London and home to more than 50,000 companies from diverse sectors including renewables, technology and life sciences, Edinburgh is a global city in high demand. We therefore anticipate far-reaching interest in Edinburgh Park from housebuilders and developers.”
Tony Hordon, managing director of Parabola, added: “We now have the real potential to deliver a European exemplar in mixed-use design, masterplan and community, stitched together with the most wonderful public realm and the arts – a new urban quarter for the city of Edinburgh”.
