UK misses out on £3bn tourist spending

The UK is set to miss out on more than £3bn of spending from tourists this year, according to new data.

Findings by Reuters show tourist spending from the US and Gulf states has soared in France and Italy, but have “barely” reached pre-pandemic levels in the UK, according to The Telegraph.

The government brought in a 20% sales tax on tourists from outside of the EU in 2020.
