One in six workers shun the office

One in six employees are working from home permanently, new figures from the Office for National Statistics show.

Some 28% of workers have a “hybrid” week, combining office and home work, with workers in the highest income bands most likely to be working from home for at least part of the week.

The figures suggest that working from home and hybrid working have become a permanent feature, but the number of people opting out of the office is not growing further.
