Sama Investment Group has secured planning permission for a student housing block and care home in Sheffield.
The Parkhill Views scheme on an abandoned brownfield site will deliver a 498-bed student housing block and a care home offering 85 beds.
The four-acre site lies just east of the city centre, on Maltravers Road, close to Sheffield Hallam University and within a short walk of a Supertram stop.
The 11-storey student block will provide 354 studio rooms and 144 bedrooms in cluster flats. The three-storey care home will be set further back on the site and have its own access.
Bilal Ahmed, founder and chairman of Sama, said: “This large, barren plot on Maltravers Road has long been an eyesore for locals. It is tremendous that Sheffield City Council has backed our plans to transform the site with attractive schemes for a new care home and purpose-built student accommodation.
“By housing some of Sheffield’s 60,000 students in large purpose-built facilities such as Parkhill Views, we will help free up rental property in the city for other residents, which in turn will ease the housing crisis.”
Axis Architecture designed the student scheme and ADG Architects the care home.
