L&Q adds homes to Barking Riverside portfolio

L&Q has grown its Barking portfolio with the acquisition of 167 affordable homes from Southern Housing. Of the homes, 115 are social rented and the remaining 52 are intermediate market rent. The move follows L&Q’s focus on growth areas, including Barking and Dagenham. The homes form part of the first phase delivery at Barking Riverside, completed prior to L&Q entering into a joint venture with the Mayor of London to regenerate the site. The scheme is set to create a neighbourhood of more than 10,000 homes. L&Q currently owns 3,627 homes in the borough, of which 650 are located at Barking Riverside.
