Kadans will open the first slice of its Canary Wharf life sciences hub next year, turning two floors of offices into fully-serviced wet labs.
The Dutch life sciences developer will convert 38,000 sq ft at 20 Water Street, E14, which will be made available to smaller companies wanting to lease a single lab bench on a monthly basis. More mature businesses will be able to take upwards of 5,000 sq ft on longer leases.
Canary Wharf and Kadans have also partnered on plans to build Europe’s largest commercial laboratory on eight acres of land on the estate, at a cost of £500m. That project is expected to complete by 2026.
