Bruntwood wins approval for Manchester office tower

Bruntwood has received planning approval for the Alberton, a new wellness-focused office tower in Manchester city centre. The EPR-designed building will form a part of the firm’s Pioneer offering, focused on wellbeing, biophilia, technology, sustainability, amenity and art.   The current Alberton House on St Mary’s Parsonage will be replaced with an 18-storey office building, featuring restaurants, cafes and bars on the ground floor, plus rooftop pool, treatment rooms, fitness studio, yoga terrace, physio room and shower facilities. Work is due to begin early next year, with completion towards the end of 2025. Ciara Keeling, chief executive at Bruntwood Works, said: “This new space incorporates everything we have learned over the last few years of studying changes in how our customers interact with workspaces and listening to their ongoing feedback. “This level of amenity will help businesses offer staff the ultimate workspace experience, encouraging a greater return to the office whilst supporting a healthy work/life balance.” Deloitte acted as planning consultant.
