London’s most expensive house is owned by the owner of embattled Chinese developer Evergrande.
The 45-room mansion overlooking Hyde Park, 2-8a Rutland Gate, SW7, was sold for £210m by the estate of the former Saudi Arabia crown prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz in January 2020.
The public face of the acquisition of was Cheung Chung-kiu, whose company CC Land owns the Leadenhall Building, EC3.

However, it appears that Hui Ka Yan, the founder and chair of Evergrande, once China’s richest man, was ultimately behind the deal.
The mansion is understood to be for sale, for the right price.
