Campaigners are furious with L&G’s plans to close a 300-year-old riverside footpath in Salford.
The development, known as Ralli Quays, will see government office buildings demolished to make way for an office complex and a 16-storey, 260-bed hotel. It was approved in January.
But the development has caused concern because it will remove an existing path on the banks of the River Irwell, leading pedestrians instead down a back alley and through the hotel lobby.
