Taylor Wimpey has said it will deliberately sell fewer homes this year as it attempts to control its ever-growing order book.
Would-be buyers have reserved close to 10,400 of its homes and three-quarters of those deals have already exchanged. That has taken the value of the group’s order book up to £2.9bn – £200m more than at this time last year.
Jennie Daly, who was promoted to chief executive in April, said the order book was “slightly longer than we would like”.
