Peel L&P set to transform Fiddler’s Ferry Power Station

Peel L&P, through its subsidiary Peel NRE, has bought an 820-acre site in Warrington, known as the Fiddler’s Ferry Power Station, from SSE Thermal.

The site, which also includes agricultural land, was identified in the 2021 version of the Warrington Local Plan for the development of around 250 acres for employment use and a minimum of 1,760 new homes.

Peel will now be working on plans to create a 10 to 15-year mixed-use masterplan, which will include new industrial developments, housing, parkland and wildlife areas. The former energy facility, which was decommissioned in 2020, will be demolished.
