Plans lodged for Stretford’s King Street regen

Bruntwood and Trafford Council have submitted plans for the revitalisation of Stretford’s King Street in a move to attract independent businesses and provide green spaces in the area.

This is the first phase of a wider Stretford Masterplan, which was approved earlier in March. The proposals include reinstating King Street as a high street, where existing businesses will be joined by new shops, cafés and bars, including independent and well-known brands. A new covered market hall is also planned, which will provide a home for retailers and eateries, bar areas and outdoor seating.

The plans have been shaped following engagement with local residents, stakeholders and businesses in September last year. The design team includes architectural firm Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios in collaboration with Studio Mutt, Exterior Architecture, Avison Young and Civic Engineers.
