Ali Harbi Ali, who is on trial for the murder of Southend MP Sir David Amess last year, also planned to murder Michael Gove.
The Old Bailey was told that Ali had “scoped out” the home of the levelling up secretary in 2021, along with several other MPs.
He had planned to attack Gove while he was out jogging, the court heard.
