Persimmon’s profit nears pre-pandemic levels

Persimmon raked in nearly £1bn profit during 2021 as revenue grew to £3.6bn. The housebuilder increased profit before tax from £784m in 2020 to £967m for 2021, despite forward sales falling marginally from £2.27bn to £2.21bn. Profit in 2019 was just over £1bn. Group chief executive Dean Finch said the housebuilder had returned to building at pre-pandemic levels. “Persimmon’s performance was strong in 2021 as we delivered more homes, built better and strengthened our platform for future growth,” he said.
