Sleep out to help out young homeless people with LandAid
LandAid’s SleepOut challenge is back for a fourth year, calling on 1,000 property professionals to brave one night outside and sleep out on Thursday 10 March, to raise more than £500,000 and help prevent young people having to do the same – every night.
Participants can choose to sleep out at home or at one of the SleepOut locations in London, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Cambridge, supporting vital community projects such as East Street Mews, St Basil’s Live and Work scheme, Depaul’s Safestop project and WomenCentre.
Each SleepOut individual is expected to raise more than £166 – the cost of funding one bed for a month.

Paul Morrish, chief executive of LandAid, said: “I am thrilled that we are taking the LandAid SleepOut to six different locations across the UK, as well as virtually, giving everyone the opportunity to brave one cold night outside to help end youth homelessness. The past 22 months have been difficult for us all, but in particular for young homeless people, who may not even have a roof over their heads.
“Last year’s virtual SleepOut provided a truly impactful opportunity to raise money to help vulnerable young people across the UK. This year, I hope that even more property professionals from across the country will be sleeping out for one night with all of us to make changes to young people’s lives which will last a lifetime.”
Knight Frank’s Alistair Elliot said: “I am delighted that for the fourth time Knight Frank is able to support the LandAid SleepOut. With the 2021 event having to be virtual, it is great that we are returning to physical gatherings, and more exciting still that the LandAid team are planning a nationwide series of events.
“Youth homelessness remains an urgent issue. The LandAid SleepOut gives an excellent opportunity to raise the profile of the perilous position that many young people find themselves in, while also serving to make a real difference.”
