Persimmon hires new CFO after ‘excellent’ year
Jason Windsor has been appointed as Persimmon’s chief financial officer, as completions, revenue and forward sales rise.
In a trading update posted this morning, the housebuilder said revenue for 2021 would be £3.61bn, equalling its pre-pandemic performance and up from last year’s £3.33bn.
Persimmon said it had delivered 14,551 new homes over the year, above its 2020 level of 13,575. It anticipated underlying operating margin for the year to be around 28%.

Group chief executive Dean Finch said Persimmon’s performance had been “excellent through the year, delivering high-quality growth”.
The group’s forward sales at 31 December 2021 stood at £1.62bn, approximately 20% ahead of 2019’s figure of £1.36bn.
Windsor is expected to join the company in the summer and will sit on the board as an executive director.
He will succeed Mike Killoran, who announced in July that he would be retiring after more than 25 years with the group. Killoran will leave at the end of this week, with Finch assuming interim responsibility for the finance function until Windsor joins.
Windsor was previously group CFO at Aviva and was formerly a managing director in Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division.
At Persimmon, Windsor will receive a base salary of £675,000 – the same as his salary at Aviva – and a 9% pension contribution. He will also be entitled to a potential 175% bonus and 200% share plan.
Persimmon chair Roger Devlin said: “Jason is a well-respected and proven FTSE 100 CFO. In his current role Jason has demonstrated an ability to deliver sustained financial and strategic progress while working in a large consumer-facing business. These skills will be highly relevant and transferable to Persimmon as we continue our drive to become the leading builder of good value, quality family homes in the UK. We look forward to welcoming him to the group in the summer.”
Windsor said he was “looking forward to working with the team as they continue their journey to becoming Britain’s best housebuilder, while maintaining industry-leading financial returns”.
