Boohoo opens first Debenhams beauty store in Manchester

Fashion retailer Boohoo, which bought the Debenhams brand in January after the retailer collapsed, has opened its first Debenhams.com store in the Manchester Arndale.

Scott Linard, portfolio director at M&G Real Estate, which owns the Arndale, described the opening of the 7,552 sq ft space as “a great boost… for bricks and mortar retail”, adding that it “demonstrates that there will continue to be a balance between online and in-person shopping”.

Last week M&A confirmed its latest letting at the 200-outlet shopping centre, signing up footwear retailer Kick Game.

Other recent openings have come from the likes of fashion brands including Tommy Hilfiger, Canada Goose and Kurt Geiger.
