Sheriff said: “I am excited to take up the role of chair of Grainger Trust, following Deborah’s successful tenure. She has left Grainger Trust in a strong position, having been involved since its inception. I am looking forward to working with the team to ensure that Grainger Trust continues to support Grainger plc’s wider growth strategy and deliver our future programme of affordable housing.”
Grainger Trust will now seek another board director to fill the vacancy created by Sheriff’s appointment to chair.
Grainger’s director of corporate affairs, Kurt Mueller, will also be joining Grainger Trust as a board director.
Grainger chief executive Helen Gordon said: “I would like to thank Deborah for her tenacity and hard work in helping to establish Grainger Trust and navigating through the early years of its establishment.
“I am delighted that Colin has agreed to step up to the role of chair and that Kurt has agreed to take on a board appointment. Colin’s depth of knowledge and experience of the social housing sector and Kurt’s knowledge of Grainger and the market will position Grainger Trust for its next phase of growth.”
