Cortland appoints new European president
Cortland has recruited Lendlease’s Victoria Quinlan to take over from European president Paul Wrights, who will leave at the end of this year.
Wrights has been at Cortland for more than a decade, initially based in Atlanta in a number of roles, and later establishing and leading the UK business.
Quinlan joined in October as president for Europe. She has two decades’ experience in real estate, including 19 years at Lendlease. She was chief financial officer, chief operating officer and most recently managing director and head of investment management for Europe.

Quinlan is also chair of the finance, risk and audit committee for the UK Green Building Council and a board member for the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation.
At Cortland, she will be responsible for new business development, investment and acquisitions and property operations.
The company first entered the UK in 2018, with the acquisition of UK developer Orion Land and Leisure, picking up its first site in Watford . It later secured backing from Harrison Street for £750m pipeline of schemes.
The BTR developer-operator has significantly bolstered its property management capabilities through the acquisition of Liv Group in 2019 and Qdime this year.
In August, Cortland also hired former Cheyne Capital development director Owain Thomas as senior director of development for Europe to lead expansion in the UK and Ireland.
