HNA Group restructuring offers path for Evergrande

A Chinese court has approved the $170bn restructuring of aviation and real estate giant HNA Group.

The group’s 300-plus companies will now be reconfigured as four new entities, offering blueprint for the future of indebted property group Evergrande.

The approval came after tens of thousands of HNA’s Chinese creditors voted on the plan on 20 October, with about 90% backing the proposal.
