Prime minister Boris Johnson will use his key Conservative Party conference speech to urge workers to return to the office.
Off the back of growing confidence that there will be no further lockdowns in the UK, Johnson plans to push for an end to home-working en masse.
Johnson launched an ill-fated attempt to get office staff back to their desks last year, before a second wave of Covid hit. Scientific advisers have pressed him not to repeat the exercise this year because working from home is one of the most effective ways of slowing the spread of the virus.
