Blackbrook buys Very Group’s Skygate logistics hub
Blackbrook Capital has acquired online retailer Very Group’s 550,000 sq ft logistics hub at SEGRO’s East Midlands Gateway from Trenport.
The site, known as Skygate, is close to the East Midlands Airport and sits within the logistics “golden triangle”, less than four hours from 90% of the country’s population. Blackbrook said the building is one of the UK’s most advanced logistics centres, as well as hitting high benchmarks for sustainability.

Blackbrook co-founder and chief executive Arvi Luoma said: “Skygate fits perfectly within our investment strategy of acquiring quality, mission-critical assets with good ESG credentials. The facility not only benefits from the highest specifications required by logistics occupiers, but also [the Very Group] has made its ESG commitments clear, investing in sustainable infrastructure and the wellbeing of its employees.”
Blackbrook was advised by CBRE and Allen & Overy; Trenport was advised by JLL, Cushman & Wakefield and Maples Teesdale.
