An almost 9% share price rise gave Capital & Regional the biggest gain of any FTSE real estate stock in trading today.
The company’s shares rose by 6.9p to 84.5p, a two-week high. Like other retail real estate owners, Capital & Regional is eyeing a reopening of non-essential retail next week, and shareholders have sent shares up such companies up. NewRiver REIT rose by 5.3% to a near-three week high of 104p, while Hammerson gained 5% to close at 35.55p, one of the best performances in the FTSE 250.
The FTSE 100 finished at 6,823, a rise of about 1.3%. The FTSE 250 stood at 21,944, up by 1.2%.
