Jenrick approves Bloor’s Viaduct Ledbury

Housing secretary Robert Jenrick has approved an appeal from Bloor Homes to develop 625 homes at Viaduct Ledbury. The mixed-use scheme will include employment space and a linear park across seven acres in Herefordshire. Bloor’s application for outline planning consent was recovered by the department a year ago, following Herefordshire Council’s refusal. Jenrick’s approval comes after Ledbury Town Council withdrew its reasons for refusal, and a public inquiry last summer. The appeal is one of a number of applications pending review from Bloor Homes, which is owned by Derbyshire billionaire John Bloor and has schemes across the country. Earlier this year, Bloor appealed against West Berkshire’s refusal of 1,000 homes at Sandlepark Park. The planning inspectorate inquiry is expected in May.
