BoKlok partners with housing association for 750-home drive

Ikea and Skanska’s modular developer BoKlok has teamed up with housing association Abri to deliver more than 750 homes in the south of England.

Abri was formed last year through the merger of Radian and Yarlington. The housing association has a target to deliver 10,000 homes over the next decade.

It will work with BoKlok to provide affordable homes in major cities including Bristol, Bath, Somerset, Portsmouth and Southampton.

The pair will acquire consented land, deliver planning consents and build homes under a range of tenures.

BoKlok UK managing director Graeme Culliton said: “Modern methods of construction are really starting to be seen as a significant contributor to the UK housing landscape.”

He added that the partnership would fulfil BoKlok’s “ambition to help more people have a quality, energy-efficient home at a more affordable price”.

Gary Orr, group chief executive of Abri, said: “Our strategic aim is to provide at least 25% of our new-build homes using modern methods of construction and collaboration will be key to achieving this.”
