Asda set to be the first supermarket to offer Covid vaccinations

Asda is set to become the first supermarket to provide in-store Covid-19 vaccinations. The supermarket has been chosen by NHS England to operate a vaccination centre from an in-store pharmacy in Birmingham, from the week beginning 25 January. The supermarket said it will convert space from its George clothing department in the store to make room for the centre. It will operate from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, with the capacity to administer 250 jabs per day. Asda said it is working with Public Health England and NHS England to assess other sites within its estate that could support the vaccine roll-out.
