Barings revamps real estate top team in Germany
Barings has made a string of promotions in its top team in Germany following the departure of its country head to start his own firm.
Christoph Wittkop and three former Barings Germany colleagues announced plans to launch Sonar Real Estate earlier this year, taking from Barings non-core, third-party investment and advisory mandates. Wittkop was replaced by Sascha Becker, the firm’s head for Frankfurt.
Becker has now announced his first management changes at the company as the business targets €2bn (£1.8bn) in deals across Europe next year. Andrea Scheerer, a former M7 Real Estate executive who joined Barings as head of finance for Germany in February, has joined the German executive board alongside Becker, Gunther Deutsch and James Salmon.
